Workforce Central 5
Employee Education

The tutorial has been designed to be deployed to your organization’s web server or network server. It can also be distributed on CD-Rom or copied directly to a local hard drive if you prefer. Each deployment method is discussed here.

General Guidelines

There is no install program for the tutorial. If you wish to "install" the tutorial to a specific location, simply copy the entire contents of the CD to the desired location. Be careful to maintain the same file structure; if you move files and folders around (relative to the other files and folders in the tutorial) the tutorial may not run properly. Note also that there is no configuration necessary; the files are meant to be run "as is".

Web Server Deployment

The tutorial can be copied in its entirety to a web server. Be careful to maintain the proper file structure. When linking to the tutorial, be sure to link to the main page (workforce_employee.html). You can rename the workforce_employee.html file if you wish, but do not rename the other HTML pages. The tutorial is compact and designed to stream to your users with a minimal amount of stress on bandwidth.

Network Server Deployment

The tutorial can be copied in its entirety to any accessible location on a network. Anyone with access to that location can launch their own instance of the tutorial. There is no theoretical limit to the number of concurrent users.

Local Hard Drive Deployment

The tutorial can be copied in its entirety to a local hard drive and run from there.

Direct Access from CD

The tutorial can be run directly off of the CD with no installation necessary. Depending on the access speed capabilities of your hardware, however, you may be better off copying the files to your hard drive.
